Digipak Advert Analysis
Digipak Advert Analysis on PhotoPeach
From looking at all these different digipak adverts from all these differnet genres I have been able to see what they all have in common in what is used and then how that promotes the the artist. All the digipaks that I looked at had the album name clearly stated on the front so the customers know what album it is without having to open it up. Also most of the digipaks included an image of singer/band which also means poeple who may not know the album will recongise the picture of them so they can then decide if they like them and want to get the digipak. They do this becuase they either want to to promote the image of themselves so they can sell there image as well as their music, but some of the people digipaks of artists that I looked at haver already done that this includes Rihanna and Jessie J.
The colour scheme that they use as well needs to be good becuase they need to make it look ionic or they use the colour scheme that is linked in with themselves an example of this is Jessie J as on the cover of ther Digipak she is wearing a black outfit and has black hair with black lipstick and then her name in gold and this colour scheme is one that she uses alot. In the majority of the digipak that I looked as well they have close ups on their faces so you only see for the solider up this is becuase the face is what you are going to recogise so people know who they are, they also have them looking directly at you so it draws you in and that can persuade you to buy it. Also included in the digipaks is a booklet normally that will provide you information on the artisit, tour dates, realese dates and other songs.

Close analysis of an old music video
The Kinks music video was realeased in 1967 and is know as one of the first music video, the song is about poverty and the misery that you got in the lower classes of London. The music video takes place in Little Green Street and the band members play undertakers who have come to collect a body. All the characters in the video is played by the band members this shows that they didn't have a lot of money to spend to the video or they felt that it was just an expense that they don't need but then when you compare that to now where all music videos have a lot of extras some even have around 500 extras in one 4 min music video. Also in the Dead End Street music video there was no special effects used which is expected for the time as they didn't have what we have now what we had back then this meant that the camera was very still and the video worked around that camera. There is also a seen in it where the camera is under the coffin when they are carrying it and they have to move out the way of it this part shows how different it is now because you would never find that now a days as the camera devices are so small they wouldn't have to move out the way of it. With them not using very good editing techniques the music video is very jumpy as they just jump from one camera angle to another where now a days the videos run more smoothly.
What I learnt?
From doing this music video I was able to see what music videos were like when they first started be made and the progression that they have made over the years but then on the other hand what has stayed the same between them over that time.
